Close grip bench press


Close grip bench press - the nature of this movement allows you to lift heavy weights.

Keep the elbows close into the body during the lift.
 
What you need for close grip bench press :

how to do it
  • Position yourself on a bench with your feet on the floor, your back flat against the pad and a bar above your chest
     
  • Position your hands approximately 12 inches apart and extend your arms to take the weight of the bar
     
  • Slowly lower the bar under complete control. Try to keep your elbows facing forward throughout the movement
     
  • Forcefully push the bar back to the start position. Repeat. Remember to maintain control of the bar at all times
