Check out the latest colon hydrotherapist jobs right here on the fitmap job pages and find unique career opportunities. Colon hydrotherapists provide a treatment designed to cleanse the colon of waste products and toxins. This can alleviate some medical conditions, or simply improve overall health.
Treatment involves inserting a tube filled with filtered water warmed to body temperature into the client's body. The colon is repeatedly flushed to clean out any waste products. The colon hydrotherapist may also massage the abdomen and other pressure points in order to facilitate the process of cleansing.
Training of colon hydrotherapists is monitored by The Guild of Colon Hydrotherapists (GCH) and the Association and Register of Colon Hydrotherapists (ARCH). Entry to recognised courses requires either training in conventional medicine (e.g. nurse, doctor or dentist), or a degree in an alternative body-based therapy which includes in-depth training in anatomy and physiology.
Training involves in depth study of anatomy and physiology, particularly the colon and digestive system, and the use of specialist medical equipment. In addition to the theoretical work, you will also be required to undertake supervised pratical work.
To be eligible for accreditation and membership of either the GCH or the ARCH. Will also require a minimum of two years' relevant post-qualifying experience.
