Multi gym equipment

If floor space is limited, multi gym equipment is hard to beat. While it won't satisfy hard core athletes or weight lifters, for the average client it may be all they need to get a basic resistance workout.

Resistance training is an essential part of any complete training programme - the muscle you build helps you burn more calories twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

This is as important for women as it is for men. Multi gym equipment is often found in facilities where space is limited - hotel health clubs for example. The great advantage of multi gym equipment is that you can do a huge variety of exercises on one machine.

Different sections of the machine allow you to work on different muscle groups and body areas. Most machines offer the following core exercises:

  • Chest press
  • Shoulder press
  • Leg extension and curl
  • Lat pulldowns
  • Seated row
There are also a variety of add-ons and adaptations allowing you to work other areas.

Machines are made with two main systems of resistance. Some machines use a series of elastic bands, while others have cables and pulleys to lift a stack of weights. Whichever system you choose, ensure that there is enough resistance or weight to meet your clients' needs.

When purchasing this type of machine, it is essential to test it out first, to be sure it meets your needs.
