Holiday rep jobs

Responsible for large groups of holiday-makers, holiday reps are responsible to take their clients on package holidays at resorts. It is a job with a wide remit, including everything from running welcome meetings to dealing with complaints and handling any problems that may arise.

This can be demanding work, on call twenty four hours per day for whatever your group of holiday makers might need, but the reward is that you get to enjoy the pleasures of the resort area on your time off. Holiday reps are typically also responsible for selling additional services such as car hire and excursions.

Holiday reps will soon find that there are four big tour operators in the UK, who between them employ hundreds of holiday reps each year:

  • First Choice
  • My Travel
  • Thomas Cook
  • Thomson Holidays

Between them they offer a whole range of holidays, from 18-30 trips through to those targeted at the over 60s. There are also hundreds of smaller, more specialised operators, specialising in particular regions or activities, such as skiing or trekking.

There are also a host of other places to look for work:
  • Camping holiday firms
  • Overseas agents
  • Private villa or apartment owners
  • Sporting and sailing clubs
  • Coach operators
  • Hotels
