Swiss Ball Press Up

What it does?

An advancement of the push-up which is great for strengthening the chest and also activates the core muscles. Resting your feet on a swiss ball will provide an elevated surface and a natural instability which your core muscles will have to work to correct

What you need?

Swiss ball

How do you do it?

- Adopt a press-up position with your toes resting on the top of a swiss ball
- Hands should be about shoulder width apart and body should be flat, parallel to the floor
- Lower your chest down towards the ground
- Pause at the bottom then push yourself back up to the start position
- Do 3 sets of 8-12 repetitions

Key Points

- Keep your whole body in line throughout the movement
- Prevent your back from sagging by using your abdominal muscles
