Yoga exercises

Of the many activities available at gyms, one of the most popular are the yoga exercises classes. Yoga entered the western mainstream in the 1970s as a way to relax and reduce stress, and has been a mainstay of health clubs and community centres ever since.

Yoga exercises can be done in classes or is ideal for one on one with the benefits of regular yoga classes, such as increased flexibility, stamina, strength and levels of energy, and extends them. One-on-one yoga sessions are suitable for everyone regardless of age or experience, and because they are tailored to you, you can progress at your own pace. These individual sessions can be taught in the comfort of your own home, or in yoga studios, depending upon where you feel most comfortable, and where is most convenient for you.

In individual sessions, your instructor will focus on your individual needs with gentle hands-on instruction throughout. Sessions can be tailored specifically for you, allowing you to learn proper alignment for your specific body type, address any injuries you may have, and deepen your understanding of yogic breathing, yoga philosophy, and meditation techniques.

Your instructor will lead you through the practice, whether seated, standing, or in vinyasa flow, allowing you to work at your own pace. This is particularly beneficial if you are completely new to yoga and would like to have extra guidance in the fundamentals of the practice, or if you have new or chronic injuries. It is also appropriate for experienced students who wish to get beyond particular blockages and fears, or want to explore specific areas of interest such as philosophy, chanting, postures or asanas, or alignment.
