Sports injury Rehab

When people have suffered an injury or recently had surgery, sports injury rehab is vital to get your strength back in the affected areas. Ironically, where people want to give up, in many cases this is exactly the time they most need to be exercising. What holds most people back is not knowing how sports rehab on an injury can be achieved without causing further damage.

In this case, the best answer is to find a suitably trained exercise specialist who can work with you to rehab the affected area. An exercise specialist is a trainer who, in addition to the regular knowledge of most personal trainers, has advanced experience and clinical skills that allow them to work with people with more specialized needs.

If you have suffered a musculoskeletal injury, they can bridge the gap between formal hospital-based rehab, and a health club or home-based exercise program. They can also help post surgical patients move toward full recovery - for example, following knee, hip, or back surgery. Such a specialist trainer would consult as needed with other health professionals, such as physicians, chiropractors, or physical therapists, in order to design and monitor a program that takes your limitations into consideration, but enables you to move forwards.

They can also work with you on improving or recovering strength, physical conditioning, range of motion, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular function. Depending on your illness or injury, you may also be offered neuromuscular re-education, or training to rebalance the strength of your limbs.

So if you have an injury or have recently had surgery, talk to a specialist trainer - they can speed the road to recovery and help prevent future problems.
