Barbell shrugs

Barbell shrugs - Shrugs of any type stress the trapezium muscles of the back.

Aim to hold your arms as straight as possible
What you need for barbell shrugs :
  • A barbell
  • A weight-lifting belt

how to do it
  • Grasp a moderately weighted barbell at shoulder width. Stand tall and allow your arms to hang loosely by your sides
  • Tighten your shoulders and neck and begin to raise your shoulders towards your ears
  • Pause and squeeze the base of your neck tightly. Hold for a count of two
  • Slowly lower. Pause briefly and repeat for the desired number of repetitions
