All chiropractors are legally required to register with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). The GCC accredits training which leads to a degree or post graduate certificate in Chiropractic.

Entry to these course requires a minimum of onto an approved degree course five GCSEs (including science based subjects), and two or three A levels. Again, choices such as biology, human biology, physics, chemistry, or natural science will improve your chances of acceptance.

Courses are a combination of academic study and extensive practical learning. Topics covered include:

Following graduation, students are required to undertake a further year of supervised practice, typically through working as an associate at an existing practice.

Practitioners are required to undertake at least 30 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) per year. There are specialties within the field, with some practitioners choosing to train further in fields such as prenatal or sports injury.
