Standing leg curls


Standing leg curls - A fantastic way to shape and tone the bum and thighs.

It can be performed in a gym using the standing leg curl machine
 
What you need for Standing leg curls :
  • A supporting object
  • OR a leg curl machine

how to do it
  • Holding onto a chair, lift one foot off the floor. Bend the knee slightly. This foot will not touch the floor throughout the set
     
  • Whilst not moving your upper leg contact your hamstrings and bum to raise your foot up to your bum
     
  • Without pausing slowly lower the leg and repeat for the desired number of repetitions. Exercise both legs!
     
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions. i.e. 6 - 8 power and strength, 8 - 12 muscle size and 12 - 15 muscle tone and shape

  • Lying leg curl [Beginner]
  • Dumbbell lunges [Advanced]
  • Leg kickbacks [Advanced]
