Side bends - performing side bends will help you develop a strong lean mid section.

Note: You can not 'spot reduce' bodyfat using this exercise.

What you need for side bends :
  • A dumbbell
  • A spare 2 or 3 mins!

how to do it
  • Grasp a moderately weighted dumbbell. Widen your stance and allow your arm to hang loosely by your side

  • Place the opposite hand on your head. Begin to bend to the side from your waist

  • Stop the movement when you can feel a slight stretch in your oblique muscles (side of the waist). Pause briefly

  • Reverse the movement - allow only the oblique muscles to bring you to an upright position. Repeat
