By adding basketball tests to your monthly training cycle you can see what areas of your fitness you are lacking in and should devote more training too. Common areas that are looked at during basketball tests are dribbling ability, sprint performance, dexterity and agility as well as shooting accuracy.

Performing a sergeant jump test is one way to determine how well your legs are able to generate upwards force. This is a beneficial test for basketball players to do as well as it will help them see how much they've improved on their vertical jump distance.
