Upright Row

What it does?

This is a great exercise for the shoulders which will also help develop your arm and upper back muscles. A wide grip will target the shoulders and a narrower grip targets the upper back more

What you need?

Barbell

How do you do it?

- Stand upright and hold a barbell at waist level in front of you
- Pull the bar up bending your elbows to the top of your chest
- Hold for 1-2 seconds at the top and then lower the bar back down
- Do 3 sets of 8-12 repetitions

Key Points

- Use your shoulder muscles to control the movement, don't bend your back
- Take 2-3 seconds to raise the bar and 2-3 seconds to lower it
- Add weight on to the bar to advance the exercise
