Leg Extension (Knee)

What it does?

This is a classic machine exercise to help strengthen the quadriceps and knee joint. The quadriceps are used in everyday life when walking, sitting or standing so it is important to maintain strength in them throughout your life

What you need?

Leg extension machine

How do you do it?

- Sit on the machine with your knees bent at right angles and the pads resting on the lower part of your legs just above the ankles
- Slowly extend the lower part of your legs so that they are straight
- You should feel your quadriceps working
- Pause briefly at the top and then lower your legs back down to the start
- Repeat 10 times and do 3 sets

Key Points

- The movement should be slow and controlled; focus on using your quads
- Increase the weight or number of reps to increase the difficulty
