Hamstring Curl

What it does?

A popular and effective exercise that targets the hamstrings. The hamstrings are a large muscle group used in many everyday movements so it is important to condition them as part of your exercise program

What you need?

A leg curl machine

How do you do it?

- Position yourself on the machine so that the pads are resting on the back of your heels
- You are most likely to be lying on your front on most machines
- Begin to curl your legs so that your heel moves up towards your bum
- Pause briefly at the top and then lower your legs back down to the start position
- Repeat 10 times

Key Points

- Control the movement to ensure the weights don't jerk up and down
- Start off slowly and gradually build up the resistance
