Cable Pushdown for the Triceps

What it does?

A basic cable exercise which helps tone and develop the triceps. Try with a straight bar or a rope to target different areas and provide variety in your workout.

What you need?

A cable machine

How do you do it?

- Stand in front of the machine with feet shoulder width apart and knees slightly bent
- Hold the bar with both hands and bring it down towards you, tucking your elbows by your sides
- Without moving your upper arms or elbows, push the bar down, extending your lower arms until they are straight
- Slowly return your lower arms to the start position
- Repeat 10 times

Key Points

- Prevent any movement in your body or elbows to isolate your triceps
- Start off with a light weight and gradually build up
