Barbell Curl

What it does?

An alternative to the dumbbell bicep curl, which helps provide variety in your workout

What you need?

Barbell

How do you do it?

- Start by standing upright holding a barbell in front of you with your arms fully extended and your palms facing away from you.
- With both arms, lift the barbell towards your shoulders, bending your elbow
- Lower back down to the start position
- Repeat for desired number of repetitions

Key Points

- Maintain an upright position throughout, don't hunch your back
- Bend your knees slightly for balance if you need to
- If you have to swing the barbell to lift it then it is too heavy
- Start slowly and gradually increase the weight
