Tapes for injury recovery

Widely used by physios and athletes, tapes are sold in a variety of materials, sizes and colours.

Some of the most popular types of tape are:

  • Underwrap: This is often applied before a tape job to prevent chafing.
  • Athletic Tape: This will adhere securely to the skin, or else can be used on top of underwrap. Look for a good quality product that comes off the roll smoothly and conforms smoothly to the contours of the body part being taped.
  • Tear Tape: Often applied for added support.

These products are typically used to provide support to the ankle, shoulder, knee or wrist, either following an injury, or as a preventive measure to help avoid injuries.

Other types include conforming elastic tape, which is often used to reduce the incidence of finger blisters from handles in sports such as golf, hockey, lacrosse, cricket and baseball.

And for those who want to sport their team colours, Zinc Oxide Porous Tape can be found in a variety of colours to match your team's strip.
